BRISBANE CONVENTION & EXHIBITION CENTRE

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre staff step out in style
24 Nov 2011

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre staff are proudly parading their new uniform apparel introduced before the anticipated opening of BCEC on Grey Street, the Centre’s $150 million expansion of its convention facilities.

The 7,600 piece wardrobe will outfit the Centre’s 690 permanent and casual staff across all departments and operational areas.

Sophisticated and stylish, the uniforms have been designed to reflect the Centre’s international standing and reputation as one of the world’s leading convention centres. BCEC has been officially ranked among the world’s top three convention centres on three separate occasions.

Australian designed and Australian made they have been developed with comfort, efficiency, functionality, style and presentation as the major considerations.

There is a distinctly Queensland influence in the look and feel, both in the use of tropical colour combinations of jacaranda and avocado and in the relaxed sophistication of the styling. The centrepiece of the collection is a black banquet dinner suit with satin trimmed jacket.

Mr. Bob O’Keeffe, General Manager of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, operated by leading international venue management Group, AEG Ogden, said presentation and high service standards were all important in the very competitive business and hospitality industries. “As a leading international convention venue hosting major events and delegates from around the world, our staff are our front line ambassadors. We might have the best facilities and services, but it is essential we present the highest five star standards to our delegates and customers.”

As a customer focused organisation the new look is designed to stand out to clients and customers as a point of recognition, enhancing the Centre’s acknowledged service reputation.

The Centre launched the new look at the recent Queensland Tourism Awards gala presentation dinner.

Note:
BCEC on Grey Street is the Centre’s five level boutique expansion of its convention facilities providing the Centre with an additional 20 meeting rooms and event spaces including two tiered auditoria for 400 and 600. The opening of the expansion early in the New Year will establish BCEC as Australia’s most flexible meetings and events venue.
