BCEC Convention Advocates Partnership

We have celebrated a successful first year of our Convention Advocates Partnership, culminating in the announcement of the program’s first Patron, Queensland’s Governor, Her Excellency Penelope Wensley AC.

Centre General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe announced the acceptance by the Governor as Patron during his welcome speech at the annual Advocates Annual Gala Dinner held in the Centre’s signature Plaza Ballroom.

The BCEC Convention Advocates Partnership brings together many of Brisbane’s renowned scientists, researchers and academics who are international leaders in their fields as part of a  collaborative advocacy to boost the profile and standing of Brisbane as a centre of excellence within the international community.

The inaugural year of the Advocates Partnership has resulted in some outstanding outcomes for Brisbane with the team collaborating on 14 new bidding opportunities in the first 12 months, with five confirmed events to date with others awaiting confirmation.
