Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) staged another winning performance at the 2016 Queensland Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) Industry Awards taking out three of the major venue awards.

The Centre excelled in key categories taking out the honours in the Meeting Venue 500 Delegates or More, Banqueting & Catering and In-House AV Services.

The Centre’s Teagan Cossor from the Events Team was a much deserved finalist in the Ungerboeck Young Professionals Scholarship.

BCEC General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe said the awards reflect the professionalism and expertise of the team in key operational areas pivotal to the Centre’s successful delivery of events.

“The team at BCEC do an outstanding job every day and are most deserving of these awards and I thank them for their efforts.”

Mr O’Keeffe said the MEA Awards recognise excellence and professionalism in the industry and serve to showcase what Queensland and Queenslanders have to contribute to a vibrant business events sector.

BCEC will now represent Queensland in all three categories at the MEA National Awards to be held in Melbourne in April.
