$20 million of water craft and other accessories on show will entice Brisbane Boaties when the Brisbane Boat Show opens today at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

The ever popular family cruisers will take centre stage at the three day show with more than 70 organisations catering to every boating activity including fishing, water skiing, wake boarding, personal water craft, canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddle boards.

Domenic Genua, National Manager of Events and Marketing for the Boating Industry Association and immediate past President of the Exhibition & Event Association of Australasia said it was fitting that the Brisbane Boat Show, the premium boating event in the region has returned to Brisbane’s premium venue – BCEC, recently named The World’s Best Convention Centre.

“Our move to BCEC was met with immediate approval from industry with more than half of the available space sold within 72 hours of releasing our show information. Before even opening the doors of the show we had already asked the team at BCEC to assist us with more space for next year’s show.”

The show openly boasts it’s the best place to see and buy boats and for that reason education is a strong focus of the show with representatives from Maritime Safety Queensland, Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, Queensland Water Police and the Australian Volunteer Coast Guard all on hand to answer questions and provide assistance.

BCEC General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe said the Centre was thrilled to welcome the very popular Brisbane Boat Show back to its former home. “We want to work with the Boating Industry Association to support and help grow the industry in Queensland into the future.

“Boating and water activities are an intrinsic part of the Queensland lifestyle and its appeal as a tourist destination, so support for the Boat Show is important for all Queenslanders and relevant to our industry.”

The Brisbane Boat Show is open from Friday 19th until Sunday 21st August.  Visit Brisbane Boat Show website for more information
