Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) received back to back accolades this week for its international marketing activities as it celebrates 20 years of delivering successful meetings and events including the 2014 G20 Leaders Summit.

BCEC has been named as one of five shortlisted international candidates and the only Australian contender for the 2015 ICCA Best PR Award in association with International Meetings Review (IMR), for its post G20 campaign to generate a greater profile for BCEC and Brisbane, particularly in the science and research sectors.

Candidates cannot put themselves forward for consideration but instead are nominated by IMR’s global editors and a panel of judges who spend 12 months monitoring online and print media for those organisations gaining the best coverage and strongest brand profiling.

Winner of the ICCA Best PR award for 2015 will be announced at the ICCA Congress in Buenos Aires, Argentina in November.

BCEC was also awarded Bronze in the international Meetings Industry Marketing Awards (MIMA) in London on Sunday night for Best Mobile Marketing Campaign, the only Australian representative in the awards, bringing the total number of awards for BCEC during its 20 years of operation to 151.

Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe said to be part of the international award process was an honour and confirmation of Centre’s world class capabilities and standing in a highly competitive international market.

“We are very proud of these achievements and it is a tribute to our highly skilled staff, their professionalism and expertise in delivering 20 years of successful events the calibre of the G20 Leaders Summit.

“We are committed to building on the experience and expertise of 20 years to take the Centre to the next level and with a strong culture of innovation and forward thinking to shape a future BCEC to challenge the best of the best.”
