Unwavering in its standards of culinary excellence and innovation, BCEC was announced national winner of the Banqueting & Catering category in the prestigious industry awards from a highly competitive field of entries from around Australia.

This latest achievement brings the total number of major catering awards to 65 adding to an already stellar reputation for the AEG Ogden managed venue in delivering a five star culinary experience for delegates and guests.

Executive Chef Martin Latter said the award was a reflection of the dedication, passion and integrity of what he describes as one of the most experienced and professional kitchen brigades in the country.  “To be recognised among the very top level of the industry is a credit to all involved.”

BCEC General Manager, Bob O’Keeffe said the MEA Awards provide a benchmark for industry excellence. “Meetings & Events Australia play an important role in showcasing our industry and such national recognition of excellence is at the very heart of the Centre’s operational reputation and ongoing appeal as a venue of choice”.

The Centre’s catering continues to be in the international spotlight with the successful hosting of the G20 Leaders Summit and the hosting of 22 international meetings this year.

BCEC continues to invest in innovation and technology to enhance its Food & Beverage offering with the recent purchase of 45 custom designed ovens fitted with the latest technology allowing for even greater flexibility and creativity in its menu offering and in the successful restructure of its event and retail catering raising its overall catering experience for delegates and guests to the next level.

Mr O’Keeffe said he was extremely proud of the achievements and success of the entire Food & Beverage Department.
